The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man suspected of multiple vehicle burglaries throughout the county.

Between April 27 and April 28, 2020, more than a dozen vehicle burglaries took place at the Providence Townhomes in Brandon and in the Carrollwood area.

Following a covert operation, detectives identified Angel Garcia, 18, who is suspected of burglarizing 13 vehicles over the course of two days. Garcia was arrested April 28 and during the time of his arrest, was in sole possession of a stolen gray Jaguar XJ. He was also in possession of several items stolen during the burglaries, ranging from a Microsoft Surface Pro 2 laptop, fishing reels and poles, and money.

“It saddens me that this suspect, who is just 18-years-old, is beginning his adulthood on this unfortunate note,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “I certainly hope this serves as a lesson learned for him, and for everyone else too. This type of behavior will not be tolerated by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, and the young man will face the consequences for his actions.”

Garcia is facing at least 20 charges, including Grand Theft Motor Vehicle and Burglary Of An Unoccupied Conveyance.

This is an ongoing and active investigation. No further details will be released at this time.
