St. Pete Man Arrested, Possession Of Child Pornography

Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a St. Petersburg man for Possession of Child Pornography.

According to detectives, their investigation began in April 2020, after receiving tips from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 26-year-old James Fulop.

Detectives obtained a search warrant from the Sixth Judicial Circuit for Fulop’s Google account and say the account contained images of child pornography. Through their investigation, detectives also recovered multiple child pornography images from additional electronic devices belonging to Fulop.

In an interview with detectives on June 30, 2020, Fulop admitted to viewing child pornography.

Detectives arrested Fulop and charged him with 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Fulop was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.

The investigation continues.
