Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have added charges to a Clearwater man for Possession of Child Pornography.
According to detectives, their original investigation began on August 13, 2019 after receiving tips from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified the suspect as 34-year-old Jeffrey O’Kelley. Detectives recovered two images depicting child pornography from O’Kelley’s online account which resulted in his March 10, 2020 arrest. See news release 20-046 for those details.
Detectives say during the original arrest, detectives recovered several electronic devices from O’Kelley’s residence.
A warrant was obtained for a forensic search of O’Kelley’s devices and the investigation discovered additional images of child pornography.
Detectives arrested O’Kelley, who was currently out on bond for his March child pornography arrest, at approximately 1:43 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2020 and charged him with 20 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
O’Kelley was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.
The investigation continues.
